The ACU Commonwealth Climate Resilience Challenge Grants support projects by ACU member universities that address climate resilience. These grants are open to academic and professional staff, focusing on the following priorities:
- Enhancing universities’ climate resilience.
- Strengthening universities’ contributions to community, business, and government resilience.
Grant Details
- Number of grants: 3
- Value: Up to GBP 3,500 each
How to Apply
- Be affiliated with an ACU member university.
- Complete the online grant application form.
- If you already have a MyACU account, log in to access the form.
- If not, register for an account, and follow the registration steps.
- Collaborate with other ACU members to promote Commonwealth partnerships.
- Applications involving partnerships with non-ACU institutions will also be considered.
- Proposals with matching or additional funding from the applicant’s institution are encouraged.
Project Focus Areas
Grant funds may be used for projects in the following areas:
- Learning and Training:
- Collaborative teaching initiatives or professional training on climate adaptation.
- Research Capacity:
- Virtual fellowships, collaborative research, or studies on indigenous knowledge.
- Institutional Resilience:
- Developing tools, training, or policies to enhance resilience in higher education institutions.

- Sea temperature monitoring in Fiji’s coral reefs.
- Integrating indigenous climate adaptation knowledge with academia in New Zealand.
